What We Do
Hidden Gems Literary Emporium is a nonprofit bookstore that provides free and affordable books to children, families, and communities across the country. By providing joyful literary experiences and expanding access to education, we spark intrinsic motivation that builds lifelong reading habits and drives educational success.
Why We Do It
Books are more than stories — they’re powerful tools for opportunity, well-being, and lifelong success. What started as a family-led effort has grown into a community-powered movement to close the literacy gap and unlock brighter futures. We see the impact of limited access every day — children falling further behind, families struggling to get ahead, and communities bound by barriers they did not build.
